The training had ideas that could be implemented on Monday (the Kratky and Liter Bottle) and a very simple Deep Water that won’t take much to create and is very simple to operate.
I was able to get hands-on experience to build a system, so I can’t wait to get started with my students!!!
The training gave me more insight on how to utilize what we have in the garden! It also helped with student writings in observations and hands on experience to those students who don’t have a garden in their home. The students share what they are observing which is beneficial to our demographics.
I used the lessons I learned from your training with my students. Having these lessons demonstrated really helped me gain an understanding of what I’m teaching and how to effectively use the garden. I really liked your training and believe 100% that it was absolutely worth every minute and it was very engaging. Look forward to upcoming trainings.
It was really fun!! Got to work and develop ideas with people at the same grade level, but at different schools.
I was refreshed about our gardening program. i learned a great deal of new things on how to improve the gardening experiences for our students.
I came away from all 4 sessions with new information that I can bring back to teachers or use myself in projects that I’m working on. The breakout sessions were relevant and informative and the lesson planning session was productive.
I LOVED this training so much!!! I feel like I’m at Disneyland for adults because this really interests me professionally and personally. So much knowledge, great activities, and just so much fun!!! Thank you and I look forward to future professional developments.
Thanks for all the knowledge!
Well done! Took something new away from every session. Met creative educators.
I will be able to use this at school and at home. I’m excited!
It was very informative about uses, different systems, and how to relate it to our curriculum and standards. I enjoyed that it was hands on because I would not feel as confident without that part.
Intro to different designs of hydroponic units that can be adapted for all grade levels. Will definitely take back to school and show teachers what’s possible!
Being able to make a system that is useable in class is awesome. This is something I can do right now!!!
I increased my hydroponics knowledge, and can confidently introduce this to my students.
I felt more confident. It was nice knowing that we could pick and taste items in the garden. And to use our senses.
It has made it easier for me to take my class out to the garden. I was not comfortable in the beginning because I didn’t know what to do. I’m slowly learning more and know I’m going to make mistakes but that part of the learning.
The trainings gave me background knowledge and lessons that I could use the next day in the garden with my students. Working through the modules (assignments) helped me focus on my specific grade level and how I could modify and adapt to meet the needs of my students; it helped to take ownership of the lessons. It also allowed time for reflection and a focus on how to integrate with curriculum we already have and use. 🙂
They have influenced me to teach my kindergarten students about growing plants in the classroom. I have actually enjoyed every single GOP teacher training I have attended and will be transferring to Forbuss ES that has just recently built a garden! I am looking forward to teaching the GOP curriculum with my students next year!
