What began in 2013 with school gardens and hydroponics labs has grown into something much bigger: a community-wide ecosystem. Today, Green Our Planet operates across Schools, Workplaces, and Communities, bringing hands-on growing and learning into classrooms, offices, and neighborhoods to strengthen education, wellness, food security, and sustainability.
Green Our Planet Workplaces started in 2022 with a hydroponics program at one Western Alliance Bank location in Las Vegas. Since then, it has expanded to seven locations nationwide— from Boston to San Jose, and from Phoenix to Dallas.
Now, Western Alliance team members are learning to grow food hydroponically, gathering for harvest parties and mocktail hours, and building a culture of wellness and sustainability together.
We’re happy to report that this trend in workplace wellness is growing like a vine—fast, far-reaching, and taking hold across organizations. We’re also growing with partners including Aristocrat and Formula 1, as more workplaces embrace the power of growing food to bring people together, spark wellbeing, and reconnect us to the planet.

Green Our Planet culinary ambassador Chef Jose sheds some light on the nutritional value and health impact of the food, supplemented by produce harvested in the team’s hydroponic gardens.
